Overview:
Assist Purchasing Manager in managing purchasing support staff.
Oversee daily workflow of the department.
Collaborates with other departments to satisfy requirements.
Prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and services in accordance with company policies.
Act as company representative in negotiating with supplies/foundries.
Evaluate quotes to ensure highest value for the company.
Forecast material and/or casting requirements for resupply orders, making sure to order at optimal levels to ensure highest value while maintaining acceptable inventory levels.
Drafts, explain and implement instructions, policies and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
Establish and maintain relationship with pattern shops and foundries, provide any needed support.
Collaborate with Engineering and foundries on part/pattern issues that may arise.
Maintain sample reports and ensure they are provided to the foundries in a timely manner.
Coordinate tooling development, changes and repairs.
Submit new tooling modification request to Purchasing Manager for approval.
Maintain pattern location and movement files.
Aide in locating new foundries as needed. (Evaluate, assess capacity, and overall fit).
Resolve issues /grievances that may arise with foundries, suppliers, or contractors.
Maintain and implement all Purchasing databases & recordkeeping requirements.
Prepare / distribute. reports as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
4-year college degree preferred in Business.
Experience:
- Proven experience (5 years) as a Purchasing Assistant or in a similar role including exposure to manufacturing operations.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on market trends and supplier performance
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers and supply chain management, we would love to hear from you.
