Romano is currently looking for a HR Generalist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Human Resource Generalist will complete the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including assisting with recruiting, onboarding of new employees, administration of reviews, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and supporting department managers in enforcing company policies and practices. In addition, this role requires corporate insurance administration, to include all administrative tasks surrounding insurance renewals, audits, claims, subcontractor files, and new policy set up.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, and professional licensure.

· Assists with recruiting and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

· Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

· Implements new hire orientation.

· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

· Assists department managers as needed with employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

· Manages the administrative aspect of corporate insurance. Manages upcoming insurance renewals, and new policies to meet the needs of the organization and its many subsidiaries.

· Handles administrative tasks surrounding insurance claims and audits.

· Point of contact for insurance broker.

· Regularly meets and communicates with insurance broker and executive management on insurance needs of the organization and pricing.

· Manages subcontractor files, including subcontractor licenses and insurance.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

· Firm understanding of corporate insurance surrounding the construction and development industries.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

· Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

· At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.

· SHRM certification a plus.

· Experience in construction or development.

· Experience with corporate insurance preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

This is an in-office position. Hours may vary and medical benefit eligibility will depend on hours worked.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
