Job Description

The HR Generalist for the Body & Fuel N.A. Division will report to an HR Manager and support their assigned manufacturing facility (hourly and salaried population) by acting as a front-line resource for people related issues. The HR Generalist will handle a variety of HR activities including, but not limited to: compensation, recruitment, coaching, performance management, employee relations, culture and learning & development. This person will actively participate as a member of the HR team to identify, recommend, develop and implement HR programs and practices that deliver required results in support of the overall business objectives. Liaises with other HR colleagues within the division and manages special projects as needed.

The candidate should have 2-4 years of experience interfacing with client groups in an HR Generalist role. A Bachelor’s degree in HR, or equal experience; and experience with employee relations and legal investigations is highly preferred. The HR Generalist should be able to successfully execute against multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment. This person should have exceptional communication skills, the ability to influence stakeholders, and experience with developing and delivering group presentations and trainings. Minimal travel may be required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee relations to ensure a consistent application of policy and practice, including coaching/counseling, employee investigations, progressive discipline and problem resolution
  • Develop and drive HR related programs, policies and practices which support positive work culture.
  • Conducts exit interviews and partners with business leaders to close identified gaps.
  • Support site initiatives with Safety and OSHA compliance.
  • Produce monthly KPI reports.
  • Work with functional management to support talent acquisition needs. This includes support with job descriptions, leveling of new roles, sourcing candidates, interviews and offers.
  • Support HR Manager with driving results from talent planning activities (succession planning, etc.) with a focus on achieving diversity and creating developmental plan for high performing/high potential staff.
  • Coach and counsel employees and supervisors on issues of employee performance and development
  • Identify common trends and issues related to individual development needs among staff and partner with HR Manager and line staff to develop and implement appropriate solutions
  • Research and create learning and development programs and resources. Facilitate developmental training for employees.
  • Support line staff through the performance review process.
  • Coordinate the annual compensation cycle
  • Track performance for hourly manufacturing employees. Generate disciplinary actions in partnership with Production Supervisors and assist with delivery of suspensions and terminations.
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in HR applying labor laws and regulations
  • Proven ability to understand HR related needs within the business, engage in proactive feedback, and recommend solutions
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Action and results oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy of work and timelines required
  • Ability to maintain a strict code of confidentiality and use of discretion.
  • Excellent conflict management skills
  • Understands and can empathize with differences in people and cultures
