Reporting to the operations manager, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple wood framing projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing and directing 4-6 Field Foremen and holding them accountable to ensure their projects are completed within budget, on time, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsible for the successful completion of wood-framing projects from pre-construction through to handover, leading a crew of carpenters and collaborating with other trades.

Occasionally visit construction sites to oversee progress and ensure adherence to plans and budget. Address any on-site issues or concerns immediately.

Responsible for ensuring that the Foremen have completed their Material List on time and accurately and then double-checking it for accuracy.

Coordinate regular meetings with the team to discuss project updates, challenges, and collaborative solutions. Use these meetings to align goals and strategies.

Communicate with all your Foremen to ensure they know their labor and material budgets for each project. Then hold your Foremen accountable to ensure they stay within or under budget.

While visiting job sites, Develop and enforce comprehensive safety protocols on construction sites. Conduct regular safety spot checks to ensure everyone is adhering to proper safety procedures including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Efficiently handle any changes or modifications to project plans, ensuring minimal disruption. Communicate these changes to your Foremen and the Office.

Create detailed and realistic timelines for the completion of each project phase. Regularly update and adjust these timelines as needed.

Ensure your Foremen are conducting daily preconstruction meetings with their crew to discuss the day's goals and safety issues.

Assist in obtaining the proper permits and approvals for job sites.

Oversee the training and development of all the Foremen to move to the next level. Ensure your Foremen are training and developing the skills of all of their Field Employees.

Continuously seek ways to improve the operational processes and procedures. Then communicate your ideas to the Leadership Team.

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their queries and concerns promptly. Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through effective communication.

Address, mitigate, and resolve any issues that might arise in the field. This includes employees, subcontractors, or vendor concerns. Implement solutions that maintain a harmonious working environment, are fair and in the best interest of the company.

Conduct Quarterly Performance Evaluations on all of your Foremen, then follow up to ensure the Foremen are conducting their Performance Evaluations on their Field Employees.

As a key member of the Leadership Team, you will be required to attend weekly Leadership meetings and be prepared to report on your Operational Metrics.

Work with the company Estimator to validate the scope of work on each project. This includes knowing the project timeline, your man-hours allowed, and the material dollars budget.

Must communicate in English and in Spanish the goal, timelines and expectations to your Foremen.

Manage and maintain all company tools and equipment.

Follow up on inspections and address any deficiencies.

Essential Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.

5 years of experience in wood framing construction estimating.

Proven ability to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates.

Strong knowledge of construction materials, labor rates, and industry standards.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.

Collaborating with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project.

Negotiating contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.

Obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities as needed.
