JUNIOR COPYWRITER INTERN – Summer 2024 Internship

REPORTING TO: Creative Director, Atlanta

PARTNERING WITH: Atlanta and New York Teams 

LOCATION: Atlanta

Hi, we’re Iris, and we’re in the market for a Junior Copywriter intern for our Summer 2024 Internship Program. In the program you will continue to develop your skills as a writer and work alongside our team as they crack tough briefs with sharp concepts. You’ll be fully immersed in the day-to-day of agency life, knocking out copy for ultra-luxury sports cars one minute and a fast food restaurant the next. We want you to bring your weirdest thinking cap to write in both short-form (headlines, teasers, scripts, social) and long-form (infographics, articles, presentations, brochures). As you work with our team, you’ll have the opportunity to help produce work for some world-class clients across multimedia campaigns.

Skills and Experience

  • Currently pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or other relevant field
  • Pursuing a career at an advertising/marketing agency, internal marketing department, or other relevant business
  • Interest in developing and writing stand-out social content is a must
  • The ability to write engaging, persuasive copy that speaks to key audience insights (and the desire to further hone in these skills)
  • Proofreading skills (both spelling and grammar)
  • Basic knowledge of common style guides and grammar/usage standards 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (which you’ll be using on a Mac)
  • Self-motivated, decisive and doesn’t mind diving into the deep end

About Our Internship Program:

  • This is NOT a coffee-run and making copies internship! Interns will work alongside the rest of our team, attend meetings, and will be fully immersed in day-to-day agency life.
  • Interns will work closely with their manager and colleagues and will contribute to the work the team is doing for clients.
  • Interns will complete one group project for the program to be presented at the end of the 8 weeks
  • Interns will attend weekly Lunch & Learns led by our team members
  • Dates: June 10 – August 2 (8 weeks)
  • 3 days/week required in Atlanta office; 2 days remote ok
  • Compensation: $15/hour
