Job Description

This position is open to being remote in all US locations.
Job Overview
The External Relations (ER) department was built in February 2020 and is comprised of 3 main but complementary functions: Private fundraising, Communications and Policy & Advocacy. The main objective of the department is to enable this organization of more than 12,000 staff to have the resources needed to continue serving 18 million people worldwide in places affected by war and disaster, shape the humanitarian sector by influencing key policies and reforms, and build and grow IRC’s reputation.
Reporting into the Director, Global Analytics, the Associate Director, Audience Analytics, will collaborate with ER partners to use data and insights to shape the strategy of marketing and audience engagement for the IRC. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of audience behavior and data analytics, strong communication skills, and will be responsible for developing a team of analysts to analyze and interpret large data sets to understand how and where to reach our audience.
Responsibilities
•Direct a team of two analysts to develop and implement data-driven strategies to improve audience and donor engagement and growth.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to use internal and external research and data analysis to advise segmentation and targeting strategies, and better understand our current and potential audience and donors.
•Identify and define key performance indicators; build reports and dashboards to monitor performance.
•Partner with marketing, creative and fundraising teams to develop audience-focused content strategies using data from various sources such as: Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, and Salesforce.
•Analyze surveys to gain insights into audience and donor preferences, behavior, and attitudes, including brand awareness surveys.
•Work with third-party data sources such as market research reports and tools like Brand watch and Meltwater to identify trends and insights related to brand mentions across traditional and digital media channels for both the IRC and our peers.
•Develop and deliver succinct presentations and reports on audience insights to non-technical partners.

•Hands on approach to analysis – curious and eager to explore sophisticated and ambiguous problems and deliver practical insights through both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
•Strong attention to detail & commitment to a high standard of work product.
•Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate and lead projects across global remote teams.
•Superb communication skills: ability to “tell a story” with numbers in a variety of formats: dashboards, memos, and presentations.
•Understanding of digital and social listening tools (Brandwatch, Crimson Hexagon, Simply Measured), and trends in the digital marketing and technology space.
•Desire to work in a multicultural environment and collaborate with people from different backgrounds and experiences, with a partner-first approach in a mission-driven organization.
Nice-to-Haves / Areas You Will Grow
•Professional experience with Python/R or other statistical programming language; exposure to SQL.
•Knowledge of survey design: including selecting appropriate question types, survey length, and survey format. Familiarity with survey software tools, such as SurveyMonkey or Qualtrics.
•Strong understanding of inferential statistics, such as hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and sampling methods.
•Knowledge of brand health metrics
•Exposure to PR/media reporting tools such as Meltwater, Cision, etc, to analyze data on broadcast, online, and print media mentions.
•Experience with cluster analysis to understand audience segmentation and targeting strategies.
Working Environment:
This role may require working remotely full- or part-time (i.e., telecommuting). Applicants must have a home or alternate workspace they can effectively complete their work from during regularly scheduled hours.

Compensation:
Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
