Medical Referral Coordinator job duties:
- Medical referral coordinator responsible to get authorizations from insurance companies for diagnostic tests and specialists referrals.
- Evaluate referrals for accuracy and completeness
- Verify insurances
- Answer phone calls
- 2-4 years of experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish fluency required, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and/or medical background experience in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of ICD9/10 coding. Strong customer service focus with excellent telephone, guest relations required. Strong ability to effectively communicate with physicians and office staff, patients, etc. Data entry skills required with knowledge of Word and Excel. Organized and able to manage competing priorities in an extremely fast paced, intense (high volume) environment required. Effective teamwork
