Intelsat US LLC is Hiring a Senior Learning and Development Specialist Near Mc Lean, VA

Your role in helping us shape the future:

We're seeking an engaging, persuasive, and collaborative Senior Learning and Development Specialist to support the creation and management of groundbreaking learning programs at Intelsat. Interpersonal skills are at the forefront of this role; you'll be partnering with internal customers across the business to support a wide range of L&D programs.

You should have a demonstrated ability to effectively apply adult learning methodologies and adhere to project management best practices, evolving concepts from their early stages to successful implementation. Proficiency in visual design and advanced facilitation skills are essential as you'll be developing and delivering dynamic learning content to diverse internal audiences.

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Manage the creation, planning, facilitation, and execution of custom workshops for Intelsat's employees:
    • Collaborate with internal customers and stakeholders to develop engaging content from concept to implementation, focusing on meeting critical content requests, audience knowledge comprehension/retention, and visual design
    • Apply advanced facilitation skills to effectively deliver content for in-person and virtual audiences, employing audience engagement techniques and modern technology tools (interactive annotations, polls, virtual whiteboards)
    • Manage event logistics: registration, room bookings, and recordings in a global environment
  • Serve as project manager in the planning, execution, and ongoing management of innovative L&D programs, events, and initiatives. For example:
    • Launching Intelsat's first Aspiring Leaders Cohort
    • Managing Intelsat's Frontline Leadership Cohort for mid-level managers
    • Supporting Intelsat's enterprise-wide mentoring program
  • Coordinate and oversee non-technical group training requests from across the business. Partner with internal customers to understand training needs, identify best-in-class vendors, and manage the logistics of virtual, in-person, and hybrid events, globally.
  • Align with Sales Enablement and support efforts focused on the continued adoption of Intelsat's sales methodology. Serve as L&D lead for global sales organization, providing expertise based on established best practices in adult learning principles and influencing key outcomes.
  • Build relationships with Intelsat leaders, HR Business Partners, and internal subject matter experts, working collaboratively to align training efforts to company and departmental goals.
  • Lead in the identification and relationship management of best-in-class external vendors providing services in support of training initiatives.
  • Assess the impact of learning strategies, initiatives, and events. Utilize best practices in adult learning assessment, combined with survey and data analysis, and through collaboration with the HRIS Analytic Team.
  • Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of Intelsat's learning and development content on the internal intranet site and LMS: focusing on supplemental learning resources, one-to-many resources, etc.

You should have:

  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in:
    • Adult learning principles;
    • Project management;
    • Curriculum design and eLearning design techniques;
    • Classroom and virtual facilitation.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development or a related field
  • Effective oral and written communications skills - ability to communicate "up and down" Intelsat
  • The ability to work in a multinational multi-cultural environment
  • The ability to be flexible and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

It would be nice if you had:

  • Experience with eLearning development tools (Articulate, Camtasia, Captivate, etc.)
  • Change management experience in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Master's degree in Human Resources or a related field
