Job Overview: The
Accounting Operations Manager role is the fiscal custodian for
ISN . This role succeeds through efficient management of the accounts payable function, best in class process over inventory cost control, and collaboration cross-functionally to achieve objectives. This individual will develop business cases and implement tools designed to foster efficiency and improvement in the department.
Responsibilities: This role has two core focuses:
- Leading our Accounts Payable function & team
- Overseeing inventory control accounting for the organization
Accounts Payable, Disbursements, and T&E Function: - Manage full cycle accounts payable processes, including 3-way matching, accurate general ledger coding, disbursements, and compliance.
- Manage performance, develop talent, implement succession planning, and manage headcount of the accounts payable team.
- Manage Travel & Expense (T&E) system, including audit rules as well as administrative tasks.
- Act as a final authority for all expense reporting submissions ensuring company policies and procedures are followed while making expense report audit decisions.
- Conduct internal training on all Purchasing/Corporate Card processes and policies.
- Create, consolidate, and report weekly cash disbursement forecasting and pacing reports to stakeholders.
- Design, implement, and maintain an adequate control environment as it relates to accounts payable, T&E, and cash disbursements.
- Reconcile deposit accounts, accounts payable sub-ledger, and unvouchered accounts payable to the general ledger as part of the month-end close.
- Liaise with the purchasing department to manage vendor terms and issues relating to timing of vendor payments.
- Preparation and compliance with regulatory, sponsor, equity holders, debt-holder requirements and best practices reporting as needed.
- Provide analytical support as needed to the management team.
- Continuously improve processes to drive accountability, standardization, and cost reductions.
- Promote and provide a culture of cross-functional partnership and value-add services.
Inventory Control Accounting Function: - Establish inventory control process to ensure the propriety of inventory valuation and valuation adjustments, quantity, cycle counts, and stock adjustments, transfers, and movements.
- Oversee accounting for unique inventory usage and deployment such as kitting, drop shipments, virtual warehouse usage and implementation.
- Actively engage in the annual audit with respect to all aspects of inventory auditing.
- Establish staffing needs and work with other departments to share/consolidate functional responsibilities and assign accountabilities.
- Establish, maintain, and report KPIs for all inventory control procedures, including a daily roll forward of inventory activity
- Create, consolidate, and report key KPIs in monthly operations report
Qualifications: Education and Experience - Minimum education required: BS or BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Minimum professional experience required: 5 (five) years of progressive accounting, accounts payable, or inventory experience.
- 3 (three) years in people leadership experience
Knowledge and Skills To be successful in this role, mastery of the following competencies is needed:
- Strong knowledge of internal control policy and best practices as it relates to full-cycle accounting operations and control processes.
- Excellent leadership, influencing & executive engagement skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
- Strong customer focus
Preferred skills/knowledge/experience: - Prior experience in a distribution or product-focused environment
- Experience with Power BI
- Prior experience with SAP Concur (expense tracking & reimbursement) and Vena (financial planning & analysis) software strongly preferred
