Position Summary

Summary:

The RN Operations Manager of an LRH Ambulatory Physician practice is a dynamic and multifaceted role that is defined in this Job Description. The individual contributes to the strategic planning process, and attainment of goals/visions of the organization. The individual fulfilling this role must be able to effectively manage the people, processes, and technology of the physician practice. They must be competent in employee onboarding, relationship management, performance management, lean management, and presentation skills. They must also be proficient in analyzing metrics as it pertains to the practice and make decisions that optimize outcomes, efficiencies, and profits. This leader has overall responsibility for the quality of care for the patients in Specialty Practices, and for the satisfaction of physicians, staff, patients and visitors. S/he oversees the clinical competencies of the support staff, staffing of clinics, ensuring appropriate coverage and level of staffing needed to support physicians, clinic schedules. S/he is also expected to formulate a plan for the operation of his/her departments that is in alignment with the Lakeland Regional Physician Group vision and core purpose/mission, and which supports and is fully integrated with organizational strategic plan and operational goals and objectives. S/he will work collaboratively with other leaders within the Physician Group and throughout the hospital to achieve department, center and hospital-wide quality, satisfaction, and financial goals.

  • Standard Work: LRHPG RN Operations Manager
  • Manages human, material and financial resources so that department goals and objectives are achieved, including department specific and organizational dashboard measures and corporate priorities. Works collaboratively within a leadership team to achieve division and organizational goals and objectives. Provides leadership in complying with governmental, accreditation, and other regulations/requirements and with hospital and clinic policies.
  • Plans, organizes, and manages clinical services for Specialty Practices. Oversees staffing of clinics, ensuring appropriate coverage and level of staffing needed to support physicians and clinic schedules.
  • Coordinates workflow in clinics and prioritizes and shifts duties as necessary to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency. Cross-trains staff to work in additional clinics when needed
  • Effectively oversee the providers and staff in the office. Effective management of their attendance, performance, and behavior is required. An operations manager will be responsible for tracking and maximizing the productivity of the providers and staff. He/she will form strong relationships with the staff to maximize team work, outcomes, and financial gains. The operations manager will be directly responsible for employee reviews, maintaining a level of internal customer service through employee engagement, onboarding new employees, building an internal leadership structure, determining appropriate staffing levels driven by data, and perform all necessary disciplinary action.
  • Participates in the selection and orientation of new staff ensuring the exchange of appropriate information necessary for the successful performance of duties and responsibilities. Orients new staff as assigned ensuring that appropriate information necessary for the successful performance of duties and responsibilities and enhancing employee retention efforts.
  • Assumes accountability for personal and professional growth and development of one's own potential, including participation in activities that promote patient care Participates in the achievement of patient, customer, and employee satisfaction goals.
  • Assumes responsibility for clinical staff adherence to personal appearance, dress and grooming standards, always portraying a professional appearance. Performs other duties as assigned to support the essential functions of the job and operational needs of the department.
  • Ensures clinic schedule templates are maintained to promote efficiencies in practices and customer satisfaction. Actively participates in projects and activities that promote achievement of quality, financial, and strategic goals
  • Communicates in a timely and consistent manner, ensuring a professional and respectful exchange of information and ideas. Responds to physician issues regarding clinic operations.
  • Oversees the clinical competencies of the support staff (blood pressure, injections, EKG’s, suture removals). Provide clinical support to the team as needed to include rooming of patients, clinical phone calls, triage of patients, and chart reviews. RN Operations Manager will serve as a clinical resource for their team.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Associate Degree

  • Bachelor Degree

Education equivalent experience:
Essential:

  • Nursing

Nonessential:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in nursing

Other information:
Experience Essential:

  • 3-5 years of Nursing experience in clinical environment
  • 3-5 years of management experience in healthcare.
  • In absence of a Bachelor’s Degree, at least 5 years of increasing managerial experience.

Experience Preferred:

  • 7-10 years of management experience in a healthcare related field.
  • Outpatient/Ambulatory management experience.

Licenses Essential:
Licensure in the State of Florida as Registered Nurse/CPR required

Licenses Preferred:
Graduate of an accredited Bachelor’s program. Masters in Nursing or Healthcare/Business
