Responsibilities and Expectations:

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Business Development Manager to support its growing market. The Business Development Manager-EPC will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of Integrated Power Services products and services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for calling on Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) firms identifying new project opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and nurturing client relationships toward completion of turnkey contracts. They will collaborate closely with the IPS National Accounts team, area general managers, sales Managers, marketing, and product specialists to implement effective business development strategies and initiatives.

Successful candidate will report to Chief Commercial Officer and will maintain regular communication with him to ensure strategic alignment with corporate’s vision and goals.

  1. Unmatched Customer Service
  • Actively participate in the IPS UCE tier meeting process
  • Maintain supplier qualifications and support strategic sourcing projects.
  • Provide commercial and marketing support to COO, CCO, RGMs, and AGMs.
  • Ensure that IPS solutions meet customer expectations and applicable industry standards.
  • Assist with implementation of quality improvement actions.
  • Ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement Process Solution (CIPS) tools and Processes.
  • Enforce strict safety protocols and compliance with regulatory requirements in all engineering and service center activities.

  • Visionary Thinking: Capable of envisioning the long-term goals and growth trajectory for the EPC business. Provide a clear vision for where the organization should be heading and articulate strategies to achieve that vision.
  • Market Insight: Understanding market trends, customer needs, and competitor strategies is crucial for identifying new business opportunities. Continuously analyze market data to stay ahead of the curve and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Relationship Building: Building and nurturing relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. Excel at networking, communication, and fostering trust to cultivate fruitful partnerships.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive business development plans and strategies is essential for driving growth. Set measurable goals, identifying key milestones, and outlining actionable steps to achieve objectives.
  • Innovative Thinking: Embracing innovation and creativity is key to staying competitive in today's dynamic business environment.
  • Adaptability: Markets and industries are constantly evolving, and IPS leaders must be flexible and adaptable. A successful IPS leader must pivot quickly in response to changing market conditions, emerging trends, and unexpected challenges.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Effective leadership involves fostering collaboration and teamwork across departments. The IPS Business development leader should work closely with cross-functional teams to align strategies and achieve shared objectives.
  • Resilience and Persistence: The IPS Business Development Manager should demonstrate resilience, perseverance, and a willingness to learn from failures to ultimately drive success.
  • Ethical Conduct: Upholding high ethical standards and integrity is essential in all business dealings. The BDM should prioritize honesty, transparency, and fairness in their interactions with clients, partners, and team members to build lasting trust and credibility.
  1. Operational Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and prospecting and developing marketing strategies for various customer segments.
  • Cultivate and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within targeted EPC firms.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with sales managers, prospective and existing clients, understanding their needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to create tailored proposals and presentations that address client requirements and showcase our products/services.
  • Lead negotiations and close deals with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements are reached.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to expand Integrated Power Services’ product and service offerings within the EPC market and increase revenue.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, trade shows and networking forums to enhance visibility and build strategic partnerships.
  • Track and report on sales performance, pipeline activity, and market insights to IPS leadership on a regular basis.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Chief Commercial Officer to ensure alignment with corporate vision and goals.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or related role, preferably in energy related or electrical industries.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, strategies, and techniques.
  • Thrive in an environment that demands perseverance, resilience, and the ability to overcome obstacles to achieve ambitious growth targets.
  • Exhibit a relentless drive to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, where success requires a combination of strategic vision, tenacity, and adaptability.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze data, and make sound business decisions.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
