The Senior Product Engineer plays a pivotal role on our R&D and Product team, where innovation is at the core of everything we do. In this role, you will be responsible for full-stack development with a focus on backend systems, helping us stay at the forefront of Generative AI technology and delivering progressive solutions to our clients. Responsible for:

1. Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and cutting-edge backend systems using AWS services, ensuring security, reliability, and performance excellence. Most development will be done in python and node. 

2. Data/ETL Engineering: Develop and maintain robust data transformation processes using managed and unmanaged big data platforms (AWS Glue, Amazon Athena, Hadoop, Spark, IBM DataStage, etc) for handling and processing large datasets, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and timeliness. 

3. Data Analytics: Create novel analytics solutions using a variety of tools including BI platforms, Generative AI, AWS managed services, and traditional machine learning solutions. 

4. Frontend Development: Develop tools to test and expose the backend systems that have been created. This is a small but important part of this position’s overall responsibilities.

5. Integration Development: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate third-party APIs, services, and AI frameworks, ensuring seamless functionality and data flow. 

6. AWS Expertise: Leverage your profound expertise in AWS services to architect and deploy state-of-the-art cloud-based solutions. 

7. Product Vision: Work closely with the product team to understand the business goals and translate them into technical solutions, playing a crucial role in shaping our product strategy and roadmap. 

8. Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize system performance. 

9. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, API specifications, and operational runbooks.

Requirements of the role:

1. Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field 

2. Must currently hold, or be able to achieve upon hire, an AWS Associates or Professional certification

3. High level of proficiency in Python and backend development

4. Strong experience in integration development and third-party API integrations

5. Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) 

6. Experience with serverless computing and microservices architecture 

7. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines 

8. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC (Jira, Confluence, etc) 

9. A strong interest in Generative AI and its applications
