Position Summary

The Software Engineer I position includes working on a variety of different tasks including real-time software development, application software development, test and verification, data analysis, software tools development, and many others. This position will be responsible for providing practical solutions to difficult technical software problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
  • Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
  • Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.) is required.
  • 1 to 3 years of software engineering or software development experience, preferably in Spacecraft and Aerospace & Defense.
  • Experience with developing low-level electronic device control software in C
  • Experience with embedded Linux OS is a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to leverage electrical schematics and electronic component data sheets to design, implement and test low-level device drivers in C
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Strong focus on embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of networking and communications protocols.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Salary range

$90,000.00 - $115,000.00

However, Innoflight considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills. Employees may be eligible for profit sharing and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. In addition, Innoflight provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, 401K, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
