Job Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to support the digital transformation of the Naval Operational Architecture, working with the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific. Able to work on-site at NAVWAR and NIWC PAC, in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Support application deployment through Navy DevSecOps pipeline, including application containerization, build automation, software scanning for cyber burn-down and identity access management system integration
- Support implementation of new features and patch security vulnerabilities identified in applications
- Troubleshoot, elevate and communicate application blockers and issues associated with application containerization, pipeline automation, software scanning, and cybersecurity
- Integrate applications with common identity access management systems or service mesh solutions
- Write technical documentation for lessons learned, solutions, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and information discovery
- Work with management and the government daily to address the pain points of customers, develop solutions, and write reports to improve DevSecOps processes and identify bottlenecks.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- BA or BS degree and 5 years’ experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Development, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or Information Science
- Must have knowledge of various software languages (JavaScript, Python) and familiarity with command-line interfaces
- Must have knowledge of automated build pipelines such as Jenkins or Tekton
- Must have familiarity with container management software such as Docker, Jfrog Artifactory, Openshift, or Kubernetes
- Must have familiarity with vulnerability patching with cybersecurity SAST and DAST scanning tools
- Must have the ability to leverage experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Must have excellent organizational skills with an ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience with DoD DevSecOps pipelines such as Platform One, Kessel Run, or Black Pearl
- Experience with SAST and DAST tools Coverity, Checkmarx, OWASP Zap, SonarQube, Jfrog Xray, and CodeDX
- Experience with Openshift Containerization Platform 4.8/4.10
- Experience with Kubernetes and container configuration, resourcing, and storage
- Familiarity and experience working with Navy radars, electro-optical and infrared sensors, guns, missiles, electronic warfare, and other warfare systems
Travel Requirements:
- Potential travel up to 25% to Naval facilities around the CONUS
