Job Summary:
Thomas, a brand of Ingersoll Rand, is a market leading manufacturer of pumps used in a wide array of customer applications. As our Product Manager for Piston and Linear Pump Technologies you will manage and help grow one of our largest product groups. In this role, you will collaborate with all departments of the company, while also staying close to customers and the market, so you can make informed decisions as you manage the life cycle of our existing products and develop new products. You will be the main driver to ensure we have the right product solutions across the Life Science and Industrial market customers that we serve.
Responsibilities

  • Acts and thinks like an owner of their product lines, driving all departments to implement our strategic plans and satisfy our customers
  • Initiates planning and actions to assure revenue growth and margin growth of their product line, must become an expert with their product line and markets
  • Develops and maintains a long term strategic plan for the portfolio including a product roadmap: including changes to products, recommending new products, and actions to support margin growth; Develops business cases for new initiatives and new products, presenting to leadership; Develops and maintains training programs of product lines
  • Leads Voice of Customer projects to develop market leading products, based on customer's needs and preferences
  • Responsible for the product specification for new product proposals and supports the development of marketing content, sales aids, website, and product datasheets, in collaboration with our Demand Generation marketing team
  • Maintains knowledge about current products, competitive products, manufacturers and markets and market share
  • Manage the product life cycle (PLM) of the existing product portfolio globally
  • Establishes and maintains close contact with key customer accounts (collaborating with Sales) as a key source of market intelligence

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
Ability to travel 20-25% in the USA and Internationally if located in the Sheboygan, WI office - additional travel to the Sheboygan office is required if remote.
Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • At least 5 year's professional experience in a comparable position in the field of technical products; experience with B2B OEM customers preferred
  • Confident command of English, both written and spoken

Key Competencies:

  • Field Sales, Marketing experience as well as product market experience necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills are required, including ability to present ideas to high level management
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels of the organization as well as key customers
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills
  • Highly experienced in the field of best practice product management tools (including Voice of customers, content management, PLM etc.)
  • Experience in the field gas pumps, liquid pumps, or other pneumatic applications are ideal but not mandatory
