The Development Controller manages all aspects of Accounting and Financing for the Development sector. Responsibilities include the monthly close, financial statements, working with the lenders, draws, insurance, and operations. The Development Controller will also be responsible for managing the budgeting cycle, funding source requirements, and monthly operating review to creating and running models to inform business objectives.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA/MBA preferred
• Minimum of 7 years in accounting
• Progressive accounting experience as well as experience as a controller required
• Minimum of 3 years in real estate, LIHTC, or development experience required
• Proficiency with Yardi 7 software preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage relationships with various partners
• Superior financial acumen and critical thinking skills
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment
