Job Title: Principal Product Designer
Duration: 3 months W2
Location: San Francisco, CA
As a talented and seasoned Principal Product Designer for Platform, you'll be a leader; creating a vision for enabling the success of our customers. The Lightning Platform team designs critical tools for a range of user types to help them make the most of our Platform, from adoption of new features to implementation and user onboarding. In partnership with Product Management, Engineering, and Context Experience, your design team will have the opportunity to make a huge impact while solving meaningful problems and creating new design patterns and paradigms.
Experience / Skills Required:
Experience designing and delivering products in cross-functional teams from start to finish
Self-motivated approach to a user-centered design as you tackle complex design problems
Must know and demonstrate lean UX methodologies
The ability to thrive in a collaborative, agile environment, working on fast-paced projects, requiring attention to detail and working within constrained timelines

Advocating for simple, modern design and adherence to design conventions (e.g., responsive, accessibility)
Deep understanding of user-centered design methods, best practices in all phases of the UX process
Problem solving and communication skills that demonstrate you know how to
1) understand user needs,
2) translate those needs into modern and intuitive experiences, and
3) justify design choices and adjust decisions based on feedback
Know the rules of good interaction design and know when to break them
Collaborating deeply with user researchers, product managers and the engineering team throughout the product lifecycle to ensure your designs are addressing user and business needs, feasible to implement, and are subsequently implemented accurately
Power to influence others and build consensus, while dealing with ambiguity
Expert knowledge of design tools such as Sketch, Invision, (Zepplin, Principle & Abstract are a plus)
Great Systems Thinker: Ability to step back and see the whole ecosystem
Provide solutions that better the entire user flow not only the feature
You can produce results independently as well as collaboratively in a team
Mobile design systems experience
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in HCI, Industrial Design, Graphic Design or related field-----6 years of experience
An understanding of user experience, user research, interaction design, and design principles
Responsibilities:
Compellingly communicate your ideas to a wide range of key stakeholders
Function as a bridge across disciplines (such as Design, UX research, Product, Engineering, and Marketing) to create a vision for your product area
Touch upon and help deliver on all phases of UX (research, IA, design, prototype and user testing)
Own various web and mobile application features, interfaces and experiences
Create designs that adhere to and extend the existing style guide
Generate detailed specs (Zepplin a plus) of final designs that allow devs to build accurately
Work with devs and QE to deliver polished final product
Evangelize new interface guidelines and design patterns
Mentor new members of design staff
Nice to have: Micro-interactions and/or micro-animation experience
