Reporting To:

General Manager of Measurement Solutions Business Unit

Position Overview:

We seek a dynamic and experienced Director of Business Development to drive company growth and expansion in the high-speed test and measurement market. A successful candidate will play a pivotal role in scoping new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and nurturing/scaling existing client relationships. As a key member of our team, the DBD will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and positioning the company for success in a competitive marketplace. The DBD will work closely with the Measurement Solution BU General Manager, individual Product Line Managers, along with the core sales team on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Mentorship:
  • Invest cycles in guiding the FAE team on debugging skills, customer relationship management, time management, problem solving, and contributing to closing deals
  • Lead by example and include FAEs in business discussions, delegate customer support tasks to them and guide their ability to maximize their value to the business
  1. Identifying Opportunities:
    • Research and analyze market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify potential areas for growth and expansion.
    • Assess market needs and customer requirements to develop targeted strategies for business development.
  1. Building Strategic Partnerships:
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with other companies, organizations, or institutions to enhance the company's oerings and broaden its market reach.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop joint solutions and go-to-market strategies.
  1. Generating Leads:
  • Develop and execute strategies to generate new leads and opportunities for the company, leveraging networking, industry events, and digital marketing channels.
  • Qualify leads and prioritize opportunities based on strategic fit and potential for business growth.
  1. Representation in Standards Bodies and Trade Shows:
    • Represent MultiLane in Standards Organizations that are pertinent to the strategic business goals of the company, including Ethernet Alliance, OIF. Additional organizations can be discussed.
    • Drive company representation and participation in multi-vendor demonstrations
  1. Client Relationship Management:
  • Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products or services to existing clients. Coordinate with the other Business Units of MultiLane.
  1. Strategic Planning:
  • Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans and goals for the company, based on market insights, industry trends, and business objectives.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on business development activities, market trends, and competitor activities.

Qualications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Telecom Engineering or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in business development or sales roles within the high- tech industry, with a focus on high-speed test and measurement.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets in a competitive market environment.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed test and measurement technologies, applications, and customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Creativity and adaptability to changing market conditions.
  • Ability to work eectively in a collaborative team environment.
