WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Assist the Kitchen Managers in the daily operations of the commissary kitchen
• Work independently and with minimal supervision to manage staff, mediate conflicts, schedule changes and staff issues
• Maintain an open line of communication with the Kitchen Managers to keep informed of any issues or situations that need immediate attention
• Maintain a professional relationship with staff
• Ability to train and coach new and current staff
• Work closely with the Food Safety Manager to implement and monitor the food safety plan
• Work together with the Food Safety Manager to enforce proper sanitation techniques
• Work closely with the Manager on production expectations, staff work schedules and short staff situations
• Ability to order and maintain proper levels of food and packaging supplies
• Ability to learn how to make the items produce in the kitchen for quality control
• Must be able to work in a cold environment , walk constantly and stand for extended periods of time
• Stoop , bend and lift up to 50 pounds
• Perform the duties of the manager when required
• Able to communicate professionally with upper management and external customers and vendors
• Ability to perform basic math calculations
• Basic computer skills
• Food Service background is preferred but not required
• Bilingual is preferred (English & Spanish)

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

• Must be able to work well with co-workers.
• Must be able to stand for full shift – 8 hours, lifting up to 40 lbs, stoop, bend, walk, be exposed to cold, and work closely with other employees in one room.
