Position: Distribution and Production Manager

Summary of the Role
The Production and Distribution Manager is a hands-on position which leads and manages activities related to the functions within the Distribution and Kitting & Packaging departments to meet or exceed customer expectations and manage operating costs. In addition, this role establishes and maintains effective relationships with their team, customer contacts, logistics contacts, inter-departmental team-members, and various vendors. This position is located in Tulsa, OK, but requires travel to Oklahoma City, OK. This role reports Director of Operations.
Responsibilities
Production: Inventory management (raw materials); Scheduling and maintenance of daily production parts.
Distribution: Involvement in scheduling and maintenance of daily work orders for kitting and light assembly jobs.
Lead team of production and distribution associates, including training, setting expectations and daily objectives, while holding team-members accountable for performance and achievement of business results.
Motivate, coach and mentor all team members to create and reflect a positive and pro-active approach to achieving results in a team orientated culture.
Selection, development, and performance assessment of direct reports.
Execute the business plan objectives by working proactively with management team.
Develop key performance indicators and reporting to measure the effectiveness of the operations.
Monitor and maintain on-time delivery goal to customers as set by local management team.
Develop, communicate, and enforce policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Develop and implement plant operations system improvements by analyzing process workflow, equipment and other requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
Strong leadership experience coaching direct reports to successful performance achievement.
Proven experience successfully implementing warehouse and production process improvement and change management initiatives.
Must also have strong organization skills, ability to prioritize workload, and be able to interact effectively with all types of people in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Must have relevant experience managing staff, KPI’s, and timelines.
Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices including but not limited to; Freight Forwarding Domestic & International (UPS, Fedex, DHL etc.), export/import documentation.
Requires computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, use of Video conferencing and various other software as needed.
Working experience with ERP and HRIS business systems, warehouse management software and databases (Customer Shipment Notice Portals).
Ability to run internal business reports and make operational recommendations based on analysis.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of full employee lifecycle managerial experience in a fabrication/distribution center
7-10 years of warehousing or production experience in an industrial setting
BS degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration preferred; will consider equivalents
