Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan and effectively communicate all material requirement in terms of: what to do, quantity needed, when needed, and sourcing (both internal and external)
• Oversee maintenance of Item Master system inventory in terms of: lead time, safety stock, sourcing, minimum quantity and other pieces of information.
• Responsible for establishing delivery time management and communication between customer service and the product area.
• Support inventory management- recommend what to have in stock, quantity to have in stock, utilize IQM, Non Stock Management, Gross Inventory, achieve Gross Inventory Targets and effective Stock Replenishment
• Work jointly with Purchasing to develop a reliable and efficient Suppliers Base.
• Manage all planning personnel reporting directly to the Production Planning Supervisor. (Supervise, train, interview, hire, terminate, transfer, promote and evaluate employees’ performance.)
• Ensure that all materials planning activities are carried out in support of corporate customer service and financial objectives, and in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Take an active role in promoting the needs of the customer in the management and practical integration of the JC Inc. supply chain.
• Develop Manage and Promote interdepartmental communication from order entry to the manufacturing/CPW areas to ensure the needs and expectations of the customer are fulfilled.
• Actively seek opportunities for improvements in the supply chain.
• Develop a continuous improvement culture in the planning function and assemble multi-disciplinary teams as required capitalizing on opportunities for enhancements throughout the supply chain.
• As required, assist in the development and implementation of branch and feeder plant inventory policies and procedures and in the training and development of their personnel in order processing methodology, supply chain and inventory management processes and practices.
• Other duties as required.

The Individual

• Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Management or Supply Chain Management; or experience equivalent to a four-year college education
• 5 years’ experience in materials requirements planning in a manufacturing and supply chain environment,
• 2 years’ working with ERP Systems based on MRP – Modules of Inventory, MPS, Planning, Capacity, etc. Solid experience in Planning, Purchasing, Scheduling
• Solid experience in Inventory Management. Good record of KPIs improvement, OTP, Cycle time, Inventory reduction, Supplier development, etc. Certified in Apics, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma or similar is desirable.
