Impact Solutions is Hiring a Sales Specialist Near Raleigh, NC

Sales Specialist:

We are looking for a motivated, self-organized scientific lab equipment Solution Specialist / Sales Representative to support current customers, expand current business and build a new customer base for products and services for the chemistry/biology research markets: this includes academic, biomedical, chemical and other fields of research and development. Areas of focus will include: developing opportunities to grow the business within an assigned territory, maintaining high customer satisfaction, building and maintaining relationships with distribution partners, growing market share with new and existing customers while achieving sales and profit goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Able to prospect and generate new business opportunities through directed outbound calls and cold calling. Also work from an existing client data base and generate new sales
  • Perform calls to prospective clients to qualify new business prospects or generate leads and new business. Contact will primarily be on the phone and email 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all products offered 
  • Record daily and weekly sales activity reporting, including backlog and opportunity tracking, sales call activity, and related information
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to meet weekly/monthly productivity goals and incentives

·Strong work ethic and time management skills with the drive to produce in a high-expectation environment

·Develop and manage a list of current and potential customers via follow-up, networking, prospecting, cold calling, customer referrals, etc.

  • Strong Internet, LinkedIn and Microsoft Office Skills needed for success
  • Able to identify and properly qualify business opportunities and create value based upon the customers’ needs
  • Maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems
  • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for proper management of territory
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and plans to expand business
  • Research competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers incorporating this data in the business plan
  • Maintain an updated database of customer and distribution network
  • Be open to change and highly coachable

·Ability to work within a team environment but still work independently

·Manage the business through use of a CRM

·Perform product demonstrations via cart shows and tabletop shows

·Attend sales meetings, trade shows, seminars and special training as required

·Manage a demonstration inventory of equipment and a storage unit

  • Positively represent company at all times throughout customer contact

Requirements:

· 1-3  years of experience selling scientific / laboratory products into biotech, academic and pharmaceutical account

·Chemistry or Life Science degree is preferred. Will consider equivalent education and experience

·Experience selling through distribution channels

·Strong presentation, analytical and customer service skills complimented by an aggressive and solution-oriented track record

·Excels in an entrepreneurial environment

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, time management with strong communication and presentation skills

·Must understand technical specifications and operations manuals

·Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills

·Proven record of establishing goals and achieving results

·Must possess a strong desire to serve the customer & provide effective communication methods. Upbeat, positive “can do” person; build rapport easily

·Ability to connect with life science/Chemistry investigators…have ability to understand their needs

·Must possess the organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed

·Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations

  • Must be highly motivated to meet weekly/monthly productivity goals and incentives
  • Proven record of establishing goals and achieving results
  • Must possess a strong desire to serve the customer & provide effective communication methods
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, time management with strong communication and presentation skills
  • Must be willing to travel to customer locations, including overnight travel when needed
  • Capable of transporting, lifting and setting up equipment for demonstrations, shows and customer installations
  • Must have a valid Drives License and clean driving record
