Responsibilities The Safety Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for developing and administering policies to establish and promote safe working conditions within the Company in an industrial, manufacturing facility, and to ensure compliance with federal and state workplace conditions Coordinate safety training activities identifying needs, scheduling programs and evaluating effectiveness Will be expected to actively seek leading indicators to predict incidents and prevent reoccurrence Manage PSM program and audits; coordinate with department management MOC, SOP, and Mechanical Integrity systems Oversee safety committee’s goals and achievement of those goals Will handle and ensure the company is informed of all applicable governmental regulations pertaining to industrial safety and ensure compliance at all times Must have the ability to compile data, track results and maintain databases along with maintaining all federal, state and local safety and health compliance programs Ability to objectively conduct comprehensive health and safety reviews of regulatory and policy requirements and evaluate the effectiveness of our health and safety programs, identify deficiencies and present solutions Managing reports and quarterly reviews to ensure timely follow up on all recommendations Familiarity with and advocate of Value Base Safety Systems Developing preventive programs impacting incident and injury trends Through coaching and development, facilitate employee’s commitment for safety and health Establishes usage guidelines and training for the PHA processes Manages MOC, PSI, and PHA documentation Coordinates annual certification of standard operating procedures to ensure OSHA compliance Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements 5 – 7 years in a health and safety related field Strong sense of leadership with the ability to impact and influence others and positive approach to driving change Ability to perform effective case management following work related injuries |
