About the Role:
Manage and coordinate Social Adjustment Services to IM clients to ensure successful and timely integration and self-sufficiency of refugees. Manage and coordinate Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) Social Adjustment Program (SAS) program. Manage current and develop new resources within the community to support refugees.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and conduct and outreach strategy to enroll clients SAS and ICM programs.
  • Provide information, referral, and hands-on assistance to clients to resolve variety of needs.
  • Directly manage the SAS program team to achieve expected outcomes and ensure high quality services.
  • Assist refugees with short term medical problems to access basic and specialty medical care.
  • Locate appropriate doctors and clinics, make appointments, and help clients to attend appointments.
  • Develop and create new partnerships with community organizations that provide direct services to clients to eliminate barriers to self-sufficiency.
  • Ensure compliance of SAS within contract guidelines.
  • Direct and supervise volunteers working in SAS program.
  • Direct SAS staff in provision of services and daily activities.
  • Conduct intake interview and explain client rights and responsibilities for SAS clients when needed.
  • Develop and maintain processes for quality control to ensure case files of each client are up to date and ensure program compliance.
  • Prepare and submit reports as requested by donors and funders for SAS program.
  • Complete SNAP recertification application and interview for eligible clients.
  • Develop and manage the process of application to different state and federal funded benefits to clients.
  • Work with SAS coordinator to ensure compliance and quality assurance of SAS program guidelines.
  • Provide language interpretation as required.
  • Organize and conduct Gold Card application for eligible clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills including word processing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of independent judgment.
  • Must enjoy working with culturally and ethnically diverse staff, clients and volunteers.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some weekends.
  • Must have an automobile, valid driver’s license, and automobile liability insurance.
  • Fluency in one of the refugee languages (Arabic, Spanish, Nepali, Kiswahili, and Burmese) preferred.
