About the Role:
The RHP (Refugee Health Promotion) App Content Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Refugee Services activities on the Refugee Health Promotion program to engage community support for refugee clients. The RHP App Content Coordinator will assist the Community Engagement Program Manager and the Refugee Health Promotion Coordinator in overseeing the successful execution of the Health Education Program (HEP) initiatives to facilitate the promotion of health and wellbeing among refugee community.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and deepen relationships with health and social services institutions in the Houston and surrounding areas, community, and neighborhood groups to support IM’s Refugee Services activities on Health Education Program (HEP).
  • Work on assessments of needs and coordination of content and development of the health-related web-application.
  • Conduct unit/integration testing before launch. 
  • Work with the App Developer to organize and manage all content on the mobile application. 
  • Maintain a database of all the content created and ensure timely updates to the content. 
  • Conduct pre and post assessments on the app with clients and provide feedback to the app developer on accessibility and usability.
  • Develop documents and guidelines to ensure effective use of the mobile app.
  • Collect data related to different aspects of the mobile app and its’ its usage.
  • Enroll eligible populations for the app and provide orientations as required. 
  • Support eligible clients with learning the app and basic computer literacy so they can use the app in an effective manner. 
  • Attend appropriate meetings pertaining to HEP program.
  • Stay well-informed on national and international developments related to refugee health, wellness, and resettlement.
  • Assist he RHP Coordinator and staff in all facets of the program.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • One or two years’ experience with testing and programming apps and content management is required.
  • Apps creation in the context of refugees and immigrants will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, designing and building applications. 
  • In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools.
  • High degree of independent judgment.
  • Must enjoy working with culturally and ethnically diverse staff, clients and volunteers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to interact well with all levels and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must have an automobile, valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance.
