Job description
The Lee Specialty Clinic is a multi-disciplinary clinic which specializes in seeing patients with Intellectual Disabilities. We are currently looking for a Full time Chairside Dental Assistant for a four day work week. This employee will be a team member of a very busy dental clinic working chairside with Developmental Dentists and Hygienists. The Lee Specialty Clinic is a state of the art facility which not only provides great patient care but also performs research and teaching opportunities for students.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Educate patient and caregiver/guardian of treatment being rendered
* Assist Dentists and Hygienists with patients during treatment
* Take x-rays of patients and attach to patient's electronic health record
* Take vitals of patients and chart findings
* Chart for Dentists during exams
* Prepare operatory for procedures
* Mix amalgam, cement, and impression materials
* Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatory rooms
* Assist Dentist in Operating Room
* Assist in Preventative Maintenance of Equipment
* Abide by all State and Federal regulations including but not limited to OSHA and HIPAA
*Participate in Special Olympic screening events
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
*Graduate from High School or GED Equivalent
* Extended Duty Dental Assistant Certified Preferred, but can be obtainable during employment for additional incentive
* Coronal polishing Certified Preferred, but can be obtainable during employment for additional incentive Preferred and can be obtainable during employment for additional incentive
*Dental Radiology Certified Preferred, but can be obtainable during employment for additional incentive Preferred and can be obtainable during employment for additional incentive
*Experience with Eaglesoft and Dexis or other dental software preferred
*Highly Motivated and Team Focused
*Attention to detail
