IB Abel Inc is Hiring an Office Assistant Near York, PA

Position Overview: 

This person will provide support on a to our office team and cover the front desk in our York office. Join a family-oriented company with over 100 years of success in central Pennsylvania and the Northeast!

Base Location/Travel Requirements:

  • Work Arrangement: Onsite: York Office
  • Occasional travel as necessary to the post office, stores, etc.

Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Greet and assist visitors and new employees
  • Answer phones
  • Assist office employees with printers, office equipment, lunches, etc.
  • Receive daily mail, sorts and forwards to respective employees and departments
  • Coordinate outbound mail and express shipments and faxing coordination
  • Coordinate the management of the phone system with IT, to include the set-up of new extensions, phone system messages, and shared departmental/business segment voice mail boxes
  • Coordinate and manage the set-up of all new offices, Touchdown and Conference rooms
  • Oversee all Conference rooms and Touchdown spaces are presentable, have adequate supplies, as well as overseeing the reservation process
  • Effectively coordinate, order, and inventory all general office supplies
  • Responsible for the lunchroom cleanliness, stocking, and maintenance
  • Manage Genetec security system, including creating and updating employee access badges & running reports
  • Responsible for ordering employee business cards
  • Assist with the updating of the information on SharePoint today page
  • Participate with company and wellness activities and initiatives
  • Provides administrative support to HR (data-entry, filing, etc.)
  • Serve as a backup for onboarding field new hires
  • Supports the overall initiatives of the Human Resources functions and duties

Education, Skills, Experience:

Required:

  • Associate degree in Business, Human Resources or similar field, or a combination of education and work experience
  • Knowledge and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Five (5) years’ experience working in an office environment

Other:

  • Customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven work experience in a similar role
  • Experience operating general office equipment [copiers/fax/etc.]
  • Understanding and the ability to learn business software systems
