SUMMARY

Construction Operations Manager will manage all aspects of the field operations including but not limited to people, functions, and teams responsible for completing production and program requirements involving installations, PM, service, warranty, and special projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works as a member of the site executive leadership team to develop a business strategy that meets the vision of business plan objectives.
• Responsible for all oversight and operations associated with the installation of Companies Products, service, and warranty repairs. Oversee, together with sales and legal, the negotiation of terms of agreements, review of contracts, and the acquisition of permits and licenses.
• Collaboration with sales, engineering and production to develop processes that ensure Companies Products are at client on-time and defect-free.
• Review team bids and other pre-sale activities to understand the vision for the project and determine if project expectations can be met.
• Manage, train and develop all Construction Project Managers and Project Coordinators as needed to review and implement plans for installations, solicit and review bids, negotiate with contractors, etc.
• Delegate to project team members specific project responsibilities and ensure these roles are being executed to meet or exceed the project cost, schedule, quality, and safety expectations.
• Conducts periodic site visits, ensuring that projects are completed as designed, in compliance with accepted plans and specifications, and on time and within approved budgets.
• Oversee the activities of construction workers and subcontractors.
• Create a collaborative environment that facilitates interactions between all internal and external partners to ensure project consistency.
• Approve all invoices and change orders above Project Managers approval limit.
• Ensure all legal and business points are considered prior to any formal contractual agreement.
• Monitor project profitability and notify President of significant changes.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Knowledge of commercial construction methods, cost estimating, contract documentation, entitlement processes, etc.
• Ability to review full sets of plans and able to perform basic sketching
• Be able to demonstrate strong leadership, negotiations, communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills

EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Masters desirable
• Ten years construction experience with five years minimum as a Senior Project Manager or Project Manager
• Pay range is $135 to $200k DOE.
