HyperKC is looking for a talented retail sales associate to provide excellent customer service and meet sales targets for our business. Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. You will help identify client needs, present and answer questions about our products and services and recommend solutions. A positive attitude and a desire to promptly assist guests in a fast-paced environment will make you successful in this role. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store with enthusiasm and you will contribute to the store’s profitability.

HyperKC is a Kansas City-themed artist-driven apparel store located in the City Market. The store is a boutique-style shop open seven days-a-week and located across from the downtown farmers market.

Duties

• Ensure that every guest receives outstanding customer service .
• Go way beyond "can I help you" in every customer engagement through robust knowledge of our exclusive merchandise.
• Help us to establish our role as a neighborly KC-focused store.
• Build superior knowledge of products and brands.
• Answer customers’ questions about specific products
• Inform customers about discounts and special offers
• Facilitate transactions through the point of sale system.
• Maintain a clean and orderly appearance throughout the store.
• Steam, fold, price and restock merchandise.
• Open and close the store.

Qualifications

• At least one year of work experience in retail sales actively engaging with customers to share product information.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction
• Track record of achieving sales goals
• Extremely responsible, reliable and on-time.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• You must be 21 years old, have a valid drivers license, have access to a mid-sized or larger vehicle, and have an iPhone or Android smartphone.
• Available to work Saturdays and Sundays and some weekdays during store hours (9am to 6pm)
• Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
• Ability to perform in fast-paced environments

Details

• Part time: 20-30 hours/week
• Hourly base pay plus flat rate sales commission: $15.00 per hour commission
• Schedule: Saturdays, Sundays and at lease two weekdays (4 and 8 hour shifts)
• Special event work shifts as needed (scheduled in advance)
• Six-month evaluation
• The HyperKC store is located at 400 Grand Boulevard in Kansas City’s River Market neighborhood

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
