The ACCOUNTING STAFF/INCOME AUDITOR is responsible to audit daily revenue reports, prepare/post journal entries for month end in order to provide timely and accurate financial information to hotel executive management and perform other duties as needed,

The expected base wage range for this position is: $25 to $34 per hour and may be amended from time to time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, include but not limited to:

  • To follow all specified procedures to satisfactorily perform routine Income Audit /Accounts Payable tasks for the property and sometimes be involved in Accounts Receivable.
  • To follow all specified procedures to run and review the Guest In-House PM Account report from Opera informing Front Desk or Sales of any action needed regarding Corporate, Wholesale or Catering accounts.
  • Prepare and audit daily income report reports from PMS, POS and EAS systems.
  • To review daily credit card submissions ensuring proper processing and submitting any outstanding credit cards.
  • To direct bill all appropriate front-office accounts to the back-office, as directed, including adjusting accounts and generating billings.
  • Prepare and post month end journal entries and be able to perform month end closing.
  • To work in-person during normal business hours.
  • Process all invoices for payment. Research any open invoices.
  • ADP Payroll Knowledge helpful.
  • Sage software Knowledge helpful.
  • Be able to perform Basic Month End functions.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: AA degree in accounting, or equivalent experience required. English fluency required. Must have minimum one year experience in basic accounting function. Must know ten keys by touch and be familiar with routine office procedures. Must be computer literate. Must display knowledge of currently accepted business phone etiquette. Prior Hotel experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks approximately 10% of shift. Sits at desk or in meetings approximately 90% of shift. Uses personal computer approximately 80-90% of shift. Occasionally required to handle and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. over short distances. Moderate to heavy use of phones, daily. Requires reading and computation.
