Robert Half currently has a short-term contract / temporary to hire position open for an experienced, organized Staff Accountant at a dynamic, growing organization in the Architecture industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Based in the Newport Beach, California region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.What you get to do every day- Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision- Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments- Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Take part in various department-wide initiatives- Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation- Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management- Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
