Description

Overview: A Kolter Hospitality Sales Manager works with management throughout the hotel and the Company. They deliver service excellence to guests and customers by listening to their needs, analyzing information, and creating tailored proposals in a pleasant and professional manner. This position is responsible for negotiating and closing sales while exceeding sales targets.

Performance Expectations:

  1. Solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts to maximize revenues to meet/exceed goals.
  2. Research competing hotels, prospect and network to surface business.
  3. Prepare proposals tailored to address and impress the client.
  4. Conduct site visits.
  5. Identify and secure business to fit the yield strategy.
  6. Attain/exceed sales goals and profitability.
  7. Follow up with clients after each function to ensure satisfaction.
  8. Develop and implement creative sales strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market/account trends.
  9. Prepare, implement and compile data for the strategic sales plan, monthly reports, annual goals,
  10. Develop business relationships which could result in additional sales and new clients.
  11. Communicate accurate information for in house groups to assist operations in servicing them properly.
  12. Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events.
  13. Keep abreast of budgeted revenue goals and develop action plans to achieve goals.
  14. Ensure all guest checks, payments, master folios and advance deposits are submitted to accounting.
  15. Report any items in need of repair.
  16. Follow all safety procedures while working.

Qualifications

General Requirements:Report to work on time and in professional attire.Knowledge and/or ability to operate a computer and technology proficiently, including Microsoft Office.Minimum of 2 years hotel sales experience with revenues exceeding $10M preferred, with preference given to candidates holding brand sales certifications.Exceed individual revenue goals for four consecutive quarters.Experience selling to multiple market segments and verticals, including space, food, and beverage/ Education: Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, marketing, or business a plus. Physical Requirements:Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, talking, hearing. Lifting 20 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs.Math Skills: Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to: Calculate discount, interest, profit and loss, commissions, cancellation/attrition, and other fees.Language Skills: Must have developed language skills to the point of being able to: Read newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals. Write business letters, summaries and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style. Participate in discussions and debates. Speak extemporaneously on a variety of subjects.
