Job Description –

HW&Co. is currently seeking a Staff Accountant for our Tax department in our Columbus, OH office. Staff Accountants are responsible for routine assignments within their area of specialization and report to Senior Accountants and Managers. They prepare income tax returns for companies and individuals within the Tax department.

Obtain a working knowledge of tax research techniques

Obtain a working knowledge of Federal and State Tax laws and Tax Department practices and procedures

Obtain a working knowledge of the preparation of corporate, fiduciary, individual, partnership, and other tax returns prepared by the Firm

Understand and abide by the rules, regulations, and code of conduct of the AICPA

Perform the following tax procedures:

• Prepare corporate, individual, and partnership returns
• Coordinate and organize clients’ data for the accurate, timely completion of tax returns
• Conduct tax research projects
• Assume responsibility for the completion of tax returns under the supervision of more experienced staff

Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications –

• 0-3 years of public accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• CPA eligible or CPA license
• Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and time management
• The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
• The ability to interact with clients and employees of all levels of the Firm
