Position: Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant position will play an integral role within our accounting team. The position will be responsible for, but not limited to, ensuring an efficient and accurate monthly close, financial reporting, ledger reconciliations, accrual calculations, analysis, preparing journal entries, accounts payable review, ad-hoc analysis and short/long term projects. This position will report to the Accounting Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares journal entries impacting asset, liability, revenue, and expense accounts by compiling and analyzing account information
• Performs timely monthly accounting close, reconciliations, ad hoc duties, reporting and analysis.
• Assist with the accounts payable cycle to ensure accurate GL posting and timely payment
• Banking duties and reconciliations
• Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
• Payroll accounting functions
• Assist in the annual year-end external audit process
• Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, statement of operations, cash flow, and other financial reports
• Assist with the creation of departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Assist various accounting related projects to improve accounting and business processes
• Assist with lease accounting duties
• Assist various software integration projects
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 1 years experience in industry with sound technical ability
• Collaborative mindset, problem solver and excellent customer support
• A solid understanding and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Strong software system skills (QuickBooks experience a plus)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office & advanced Excel functionality
• Comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
• Potential for hybrid schedule
• Includes potential overtime to meet deadlines
• Highly organized with attention to detail and quality of deliverables
• Strong time management skills to effectively manage deadlines
• Data analysis skills to identify trends or anomalies
• Willingness to accept challenges and grow professionally
