Black Diamond Paving is hiring a Sealcoat Foreman in Escondido, CA. We are a California Paving/Sealcoat Contractor looking for a motivated and talented person to run a sealcoat & crack fill crew in our Escondido, CA office. This individual will possess not only extraordinary technical skills, but the ability to motivate and manage these teams to maximum performance. In this position, people management skills are as important as technical ability. The ideal candidate will be honest, confident, positive, and enthusiastic about building successful teams. Because this is a Foreman position, there are many important responsibilities above and beyond operating the machinery. Black Diamond Paving & Concrete provides pavement maintenance services for commercial, industrial, retail, and multi-family residential markets. Black Diamond Paving has been in business for over 25 years, with its headquarters office located in Northern California and a second office located in Escondido.
Job Skills:

Manage sealcoat crews and motivate them for maximum performance.
Expert level sealcoat & crack fill knowledge and experience (5 years’ experience preferred)
Demonstrate leadership skills on an ongoing basis.
Operate two or more pieces of equipment at expert level, at least one other piece of equipment at journeyman level, and proficient on all remaining equipment.
Organizing teams for weekly schedules
Ability & experience in organizing trucks, tankers, material deliveries, sealcoat supplies etc. for all jobs.
Provide basic maintenance on machines i.e., change oil, squeegees, protect machinery from weather.
Schedule regular equipment maintenance with Fleet Manager
Inspect tanker and trailer for maintenance, notify Fleet Manager, fill out daily inspection forms.
Completion of daily time sheets containing all job-related information.
Superior communication skills
Provide on-the-job training for apprentices and operators.
Provide ongoing analysis of production and recommendations for improvement.
Serve as resource to management on project issues, equipment maintenance and purchases, field organization and personnel.
Display safety consciousness, a strong work ethic, exceptional attitude & attendance traits that sets the standard for team members.
Ensure your team is always working drug and alcohol free, enforcing the company’s drug and alcohol policy.
Serve as “Assistant Coach” to Operations Manager in motivating and directing team.

Job Requirements:

Maintain acceptable California Class C driver’s license.
Be available to work weekends and out of town when necessary.
Not required but is a plus - Maintain acceptable Class A driver’s license with tanker endorsement.
