Reel Power is hiring for a full-time Quality Manager in Houston, TX.
 
As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for quality assurance and the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System. The Quality Manager will shall promote adherence to interna and external policies, procedures and standards. They will understand all aspects of the business’ operation and assist in the development, implementation, and achievement of the company’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Administrator for ISO 9001:2015.
• Work as a team with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Manufacturing to deliver a quality product that we are proud of to exceed customer requirements/expectations.
• Develop all Factory Acceptance Test documentation to customer requirements.
• Evaluate Reel Power products in meeting customer specifications and requirements.
• Set-up, program, safely operate and maintain equipment per debug and testing.
• Determine the gaging required to accurately verifying product conformance.
• Perform complex dimensional and visual first article, in-process and final inspections per blueprints or other written specifications as well as verbal instructions.
• Review material and process certifications for compliance to contractual requirements.
• Maintain accurate written product and vendor/operation history records documenting part numbers, lot numbers, quantities, inspection results, inspection dates and the inspector’s initials and/or stamp.
• Support purchasing and production through the formulation of quality plans and requirement reviews.
• Write inspection procedures and inspection reports.
• Calibrate test measuring equipment per requirements.
• Must be able to travel for vendor audits or customer needs.
• Develop work instructions, procedures, and equipment documentation.
• Machine shop experience and related equipment, CNC mills and lathes, etc.
• Tool & Gage calibration management
• Measure Manufacturing Rework cost, Customer complaints and Field Problems to resolution
• Report monthly metrics to management and improvements areas
• Hold Quality awareness meetings plant wide once per month to go over how we are doing in quality
• Interviews, hires, and trains employees for the department.
• Oversees the work assignments of quality inspectors.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• Handles counseling of employees in support of company policies

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred. Engineering or Technical degree
• 7 years of related Quality Assurance and Electrical, and Mechanical Inspection experience or a combination of education and/or experience.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills and experience.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience reading blue prints and geometric tolerances.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals and ability to write routine reports. 
• Understand AWS Certified Welding Inspection (CWI) and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and train employees on procedures is desired but other relative experience and desire to become a CWI will be considered.
• Self-directed and have ability to interact with supervisors, engineers and customers.
• Solid computer and math skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong experience with ISO, AWS, ABS, DNV & Safety directive Standards for the Wire & Cable and Industrial machinery industries
• Strong knowledge of all workings of a QMS including FATs, inspection, Document Control, Quality checklist, non-conformance, corrective action documentation & RMA processes.
