Want to be part of this? We currently have an exciting opportunity for Manager, Quality Assurance Engineering to join our Tailored Technology team. This individual will be interfacing with business analysts, product managers, tech leads and other stakeholders in establishing acceptance criteria for requirements and then building out the test automation framework to support the application. This role will be part of a growing team that is working on building out the next generation point of sale platform using a modern tech stack and offers an opportunity to work with the latest technologies to build the next set of applications that will push the company forward. You’ll get to drive quality from the start with a strong emphasis on Test Automation, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.

What you’ll do

  • Participate in the design and implementation process of new and existing products. 
  • Lead medium to large enterprise projects from a QA standpoint and provide technical leadership to other QA engineers. 
  • Manage an onsite-offshore team model. 
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and business stakeholders to understand test requirements and roadmap to meet the business goals and QA metrics. 
  • Develop and maintain Functional test scripts. 
  • Design and maintain test automation scripts where applicable. 
  • Conduct functional tests for business applications and perform integration (end-to-end) tests for new and existing applications. 
  • Participate in the review and approval process of project deliverables. 
  • Advise project teams on appropriate approaches to testing delivered products, including test tool sets. 
  • Provide guidance to development and project teams on the creation of a master test plan and other testing-related deliverables. 
  • Assist project teams in identifying the needs for appropriate test environments and coordinate the establishment of such environments. 
  • Oversee processes for identifying, tracking, and reporting the results of test procedures. 
  • Perform regression testing using existing scripts. 
  • Find, track, and prioritize bugs, working towards their resolution. 
  • Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defect density and open defect counts. 
  • Participate in the testing of production emergency bug fixes. 
  • Perform rotating on-call support duties and periodically participate in after-hours release testing. 
  • Participate in release production validation. 
  • Analyze the quality of the product before rolling out to production by examining quality metrics. 
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with a clear, concise technical writing style. 
  • Ability to prioritize and take responsibility for the execution of testing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Lead and manage a team of QA engineers - Hire new talent, offer coaching and development opportunities.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business Management, Computer Science, or a related field is required. 
  • 7 years of QA experience, primarily worked in the Retail and Downstream applications environment.
  • Proficient in leading and managing a QA team comprising a minimum of 4 members.
  • Experienced in managing multiple QA divisions. 
  • Testing proficiency in validating highly scalable E-commerce applications, POS, Data, and Mobile applications. 
  • Strong experience in E2E / Regression / Smoke / UAT testing. 
  • Proficient in manual testing using Quality Assurance Test Engineering techniques, methodologies, and best practices, leveraging test management tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, etc. 
  • Technical expertise in Automation scripting/Reviewing (Java or JavaScript). 
  • Hands-on experience in Selenium and BDD framework. 
  • Experience in retail promotion systems and nightly workflows testing. 
  • Proficient in Backend testing using SQL. 
  • Extensive experience in testing REST APIs, JSON, XML, and web-based applications. 
  • Hands-on experience using automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, UFT tools. 
  • Experience in creating automation test plans.
  • Exposure to working in an Agile development environment with an understanding of Scrum.
  • Evaluate functional and non-functional business requirements to continuously enhance test coverage. 
  • Familiarity with the concepts of performance & load testing (hands-on experience in any tool like Load Runner, JMeter is desirable). 
  • Experience with mobile testing, automation frameworks, and tools. 
  • Familiarity with working in a CI/CD development pipeline. 
  • Experience in test planning, execution, and maintenance of automated test suites.

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands 

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
