Hueman PE Talent Solutions is Hiring a Payroll and Benefits Specialist Near Charles, MO

General Purpose: The payroll and benefits specialist will be responsible for executing the weekly payroll process and maintaining the employee benefits plan to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This position is highly confidential in nature.
 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Run weekly payroll in a multi-state environment with a high level of attention to detail to ensure team members are paid accurately and efficiently. 

  1. Manage, maintain, and update employee payroll data within ADP Workforce Now Payroll System. 

  1. Creates and updates SOP’s as they pertain to internal processes. 

  1. Ensure that all payroll changes, benefit elections, and associate data changes are recorded promptly and with proper documentation. 

  1. Process garnishments, verifications of employment, company filings. 

  1. Assist with post-hire onboarding activities, including new employee setup and benefit administration. 

  1. Acts as Subject Matter Expert in Payroll/Benefit related items for the Company, assists associates at all levels with Payroll/Benefit related requests/questions, assist with various associate payroll/benefit-related tasks/projects as needed. 

  1. Maintain all required payroll files, records, and documentation, including general filing as needed. 

  1. Makes recommendations for process improvement using past payroll/benefit experience/expertise and general knowledge of best practices; identifies gaps, where needed. 

  1. Ensures compliance with Federal and State payroll, benefits and HR legal/compliance regulations and best practices. 

  1. Create and assure compliance with ACA requirements. 

  1. Resolve payroll discrepancies. 

  1. Provide excellent internal customer service in person, via email, phone or video. 

Employee Responsibilities:

  1. Conducts oneself and operates equipment and acts in accordance with all company policies, safety rules, regulations, and laws, including wearing proper personal protective equipment when necessary.

  1. Conducts oneself in a positive professional manner at all times.

  1. Takes advantage of all opportunities to attend training sessions to upgrade knowledge.

  1. Make suggestions for improving the company.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  1. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Four-year college degree or two-year associate degree is preferred with a related degree.

  1. Requires a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in payroll administration in a multi-state environment. ADP Workforce Now experience preferred. 

  1. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Programs, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

  1. Strong organization/planning, verbal/written, multi-tasking and time management skills are vital. 

  1. Must possess attention to detail, demonstrated decision-making, self-motivation and teamwork skills. 

  1. Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
