Key position functions include:

• Supplier development and qualification for the Stream-Flo Group - locate potential new suppliers and evaluate commercial and technical capability and capacity to suit business needs.
• Expand the mix of competent suppliers to ensure stable supply of products from different global locations, with focus outside of existing regional sourcing areas.
• Assess Supplier competency and capacity levels, and present opportunities to increase the Stream-Flo Group’s supply-chain depth.
• Maintain detailed knowledge and in-depth technical capability to assess suppliers against the needs and specifications required by internal customers, including but not limited to knowledge of foundries, forge shops, machining, welding, NDE and coatings.
• Provide corporate guidance on long term stability in supply of materials and services directly related to manufactured products.
• Leverage benefits of aggregate volume purchases and best practices across the organization.
• Collaborate with Global Sourcing, Supply Chain, QA, and Engineering to develop new suppliers based on commercial viability.
• Work closely with Global Sourcing Manager on ensuring surveillance or onsite audits in conjunction with QA and Engineering requirements from each business unit, including use of third-party services where applicable.
• Facilitate collaborative procurement practices to encourage pooling of information and expertise.
• Participate in product resolution issues as required.

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

• Related post-secondary degree or diploma, with 10 years sourcing/purchasing experience (preferably related to the oil and gas industry).
• Experience with international sourcing experience from low-cost countries, contract negotiation and vendor quality program management.
• Proven leadership experience along with first-hand experience developing strategies and building and managing Purchasing and/or Sourcing teams.
• International and developing country experience in oil and gas product manufacturing means and methodologies.
• Solid understanding and knowledge of manufacturing processes – from raw material through to finished product and delivery.
• Strong negotiation experience with the ability to understand legal terminology, and to draft and review contracts.
• Extensive knowledge and familiarity with industry standards such as API, ANSI, ASME SAMSS and related product segment specifications.
• Quality Assurance training and previous audit experience.
• Flexibility to regularly participate in international travel.
• First-hand working knowledge of broader Supply Chain processes (planning, scheduling, forecasting, logistics).
• Multilingual is an asset.
• Location may be flexible (Houston area preferred).
