Job Description
Job Summary:
The Marketing Liaison initiates and develops relationships with current and potential referral sources and educates healthcare partners, patients, families, and the community about hospice and palliative care services. The Marketing Liaison collaborates with healthcare partners, gathering pre-admission data for clinical department to review for patient candidacy for hospice and palliative care services. Responsible for coordination and facilitation of education and training of healthcare facility staff, in partnership with Hope Clinical and Marketing teams, especially in the area of hospice and palliative care, but can include other areas of disease progression and symptom-management. Provides end of life education to healthcare professionals as well as the public. Explains hospice and palliative care benefits and services to patients and families and obtains consent for services, working with the intake/admission and clinical department.
Job Status: Full time; Exempt; with rotating on-call responsibilities
Reports to: Director of Business Development
Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University, preferably in healthcare
  • Knowledge of hospice rules and regulations and/or caring for senior population
  • Sales and/or Marketing experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and can work independently, as well as a member of a team
  • Reliable means of transportation, valid Texas driver's license, and automobile insurance.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Relationship Building and Referrals

  • Visits referral sources (accounts) and community partners as assigned within Hope Hospice service, establishing relationships with the administrative and marketing staff, and Hope Hospice patients.
  • All visits must be well-documented in a Customer Referral Management (CRM) system
  • Inquires about any potential hospice referrals in any accounts and coordinates those referrals with the hospice intake department.
  • Responds to nursing facility staff requests for education, training, and resolution of problems/concerns.
  • Notifies Business Development and Clinical Departments of events, activities, special occasions, awards or upcoming events in any accounts.
  • Communicate with the Intake and Business Development Department any issues or concerns within the accounts.

Education and Training

  • Coordinates and facilitates yearly in-services on hospice and palliative care services to all contracted healthcare facilities, as requested or needed.
  • Develop and conduct presentations specific to the needs of the community and healthcare partners on end-of-life care.
Liaison Activities
  • Cultivating relationships with referral sources to generate referrals.
  • Participating in the facility's marketing education, ensuring knowledge of their resources, and maintaining knowledge of competitor facilities.
  • Conducting presentations for potential referral sources and patient families.
  • Collaborating with healthcare personnel regarding referrals, evaluations, and marketing activities.
  • Identify marketing trends and opportunities with physicians, facilities, and other healthcare partners.
  • Conduct explanation of benefits for hospice and palliative care services with referred patients and families as needed.
  • Timely communication of feedback and concerns to Director of Business Development
  • Completing required paperwork, managing internal and external correspondence, and maintaining data in CRM in a timely and professional manner.
  • Serves as Outreach/Marketing staff support as assigned for facility activities, community organizations, public relations, and special events; which may include after hours commitment
  • Works closely with admission staff, updating them frequently on schedule and activities, to ensure smooth transition for new referral sources and to alleviate potential customer service problems.
  • Keeps abreast of agency's internal programs and services and effectively communicates this information to appropriate supervisory staff.
  • Assist and support the Business Development Manager in facility marketing, cultivating new referral activity and providing consultations to families.
  • Assist and support the Intake department, and acts as a backup to Intake as needed, and with rotational on-call responsibilities
  • Works with internal staff to collect competitive, referral source, and marketshare information.
General
  • Supports philosophy and objectives of Hope Hospice.
  • Maintains professional appearance, behavior, attitude, and integrity.
  • Keeps abreast of and abides by policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Maintains confidentiality and ethical behavior. Adheres to all compliance requirements and standards.
  • Promotes a team approach through cooperation, mutual respect, flexibility, and dependability.
  • Participates in appropriate meetings and activities.
  • Reads materials and attend in-services, seminars or conventions as needed for industry knowledge and professional growth.
  • Keeps abreast of technology and latest developments to further develop presentation skills.
  • Contributes to an atmosphere of excellence, mutual respect, and caring.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment; moderate amount of standing, walking, stooping, sitting, reaching; some physical activity with moderate lifting required.
Extensive amount of driving;
Hours Typically 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, but must have flexible hours for some evening and weekend coverage for networking, special events, and on-call responsibilities.
