Purchasing Specialist
The Purchasing Specialist will be a key member of the Value Chain Performance Team and will be responsible for managing corporate contracts, maintaining relationships with suppliers, and help execute on cost savings opportunities. This position will be based at our Atlanta Corporate Office and report to the Corporate Purchasing Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares purchase orders, solicits bid proposals, and reviews requisitions for goods and services across the company, as well as, provide local plant support
- Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history
- Formulates policies and procedures for bid proposals and procurement of goods and services
- Evaluates and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes
- Assist in identifying and executing on cost savings opportunities within the supply chain
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three (3) or more years of experience in supply chain or procurement type role
- Experience in the manufacturing industry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel using formulas, functions, and Pivot Tables
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration
- Experience in the Corrugated industry
- Experience performing data analysis
