Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified person to fill the Information Security Manager position in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This critical role involves providing essential support to the National Space Test and Training Range (NSTTC) Integrated Program Office (IPO), focusing on enhancing network operations and cybersecurity to advance classified objectives. Responsibilities include collaborating with government stakeholders, implementing strict IT security controls, and ensuring compliance with DAF, DoD, and IC standards. The role also entails overseeing information system engineering, integrating networking requirements into organizational systems with a focus on industry best practices.
Skills / Experience Required

• 10 years of relevant DoD work experience
• Provide invaluable support to NSTTC IPO, focusing on network operations and cybersecurity management for classified objectives
• Collaborate closely with government stakeholders to offer expert recommendations and innovative solutions for program and project implementation
• Adhere to DAF, DoD, and IC standards and government-defined protocols
• Conduct comprehensive research on policies and processes
• Apply rigorous IT security controls to safeguard system data and resources
• Ensure compatibility with hardware and software configurations
• Test and validate solutions meticulously, aligning with IA activities outlined in the RMF
• Oversee information system engineering activities, guiding integration of networking and processing requirements
• Strategically architect, design, develop, and configure systems
• Incorporate industry best practices in software and system/security engineering, secure design, architecture, and coding techniques
• Refine existing systems and develop cutting-edge solutions to ensure optimal performance and security
• Facilitate the development, maintenance, and monitoring of operational information security systems, including system related policy and guidelines
• Maintain a working knowledge of system functions, technical tools, software, technical safeguards, and operational measures
• Assess changes to systems, IT environments, and ensure systems/environments meet operational needs
• Using strong verbal and written communication skills, provide recommendations to senior leadership to help ensure mission success
• Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Education / Certifications

• Bachelor's degree, relevant work experience and training in/with computer science, technology, networking, cybersecurity, or related fields may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Security certification (current / able to obtain)

Security Clearance

A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
