Home Health Care Management is Hiring a Human Resource (HR) Generalist Near Chico, CA

Introduction to the Company

Home & Health Care Management is the oldest home health care agency in Northern California. Our agency specializes in delivering comprehensive in-home care and case management for older adults, children, and those living with disabilities across many counties. We use a matrix of Medi-Cal, Medicare and targeted health programs to find solutions that work for our clients.

You are an HR professional who wants to make a difference. You are excited to formulate human resources policies and has a collaborative interdepartmental approach to managing HR issues.

You hold yourself to a high standard of integrity, provide excellent customer service, pay attention to details, and are comfortable implementing federal and state labor regulations every day.

Service Region/ Location:

The role is in-office at our Chico location. This is not a remote role.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 5pm with an hour lunch.

Travel:

There may be some occasions where you may need to travel to our other offices in Redding, Marysville, and Sacramento. Otherwise travel is not regularly required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job you must be able to perform the following duties successfully:

  • Develop human resource policies in conjunction with other company functions, such as finance, at the direction of the HR Director. This includes assisting with pay scale and benefit surveys in labor markets that the agency is working in to remain competitive.
  • Prepare and maintain HR records for all employees records, including data entry into our electronic record system, record leaves of absences.
  • Serve as a resource on HR processes and procedures, answer questions from employees relating to leave, retirement account, health benefits etc. Resolve basic human resource issues as appropriate
  • Maintain credentialing for all staff and independent contractors. You will verify education and licenses, conduct background checks, and validate and complete I-9 forms for new hires
  • File applications with EDD, update agency website weekly or as needed for new positions that are posted.
  • Oversee workers compensation injury claims and subsequent administrative documentation and reports. Attend annual renewal conference with insurance company with new experience modification and annual injury rates, and safety programs. Coordinate with clinical training coordinator for safety educational classes that may be needed.
  • Participate in audits and surveys.
  • Advise the office of new hire and equipment and education and training needs
  • You may also assist in recruiting, including coordinating interviews, attend interviews as the HR resource, make job offers, send out welcome letters, and set up new hire orientations.
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Essential Requirements:

  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Eligible to be insured under our liability policy with a clean DMV report
  • Your own vehicle and proof of current auto insurance
  • COVID vaccinated or have an exemption.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of Federal and California State employment related laws and regulations.
  2. Ability to handle all HR data and information in a confidential manner, be discrete and maintain a high standard of integrity
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
  4. Experience implementing and maintaining HRIS system.
  5. Effective verbal and written communication skills with staff and other professional consultants such as insurance companies, medical offices, attorneys, state contract representatives.
  6. Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to consistently meet deadlines
  7. Critical thinking, attention to detail, flexibility to adjust to rapidly changing environment and priorities are required.
  8. Must be self-directed, yet work as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team that is customer service driven.

Preferred Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or its equivalent, will consider individuals prior experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Three to five years of Human Resource experience is preferred, may substitute a BS or MS degree in lieu of experience.
  • SHRM Certification
  • Knowledge of BambooHR

Salary

Pay range is $20 to $28 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.

Benefits

On the first of the month following 60 days of employment you will be eligible for health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, as well as Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

Leave accrues starting on your first day of employment, and you can take paid vacation, sick and holiday leave after 90 days.

We offer a 401(k) matching up to 4% after 1 year of employment and 1,000 hours worked.

You will receive a monthly phone stipend. You will be reimbursed for mileage.
