POSITION SUMMARY
The Prep Cook is responsible for making recipes, following Lucille’s prep list, and maintaining an organized, clean, and sanitary work station.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs Opening, sidework and closing duties while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the shift
- Stocks station and checks quality of all products
- Prepares all items needed according to recipe during shift
- Follows all safety and sanitation procedures
- Follows and understands all company procedures and policies
- Completes training of kitchen tools and appliances before use
- Follows MSDS book for proper guidelines for use of chemicals and sanitation products
- Grasping and fine manipulation use of hands is required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Continuous use of hands and arms
- Continuous reaching, bending, abrupt stopping, stooping, lifting, shaking, stirring, pouring, and carrying
- Ability to be on your feet for an extended period of time
- Ability to work in heated or cooled temperatures for prolonged periods of time
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Basic English reading, comprehension, and communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of weights, measurements, and volumes for cooking procedures
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
- Ability to work quickly in a confined area for an extended period of time
