Responsibilities

As the Events Manager - Global with Hines, you will be responsible for developing, producing and overseeing Hines’ event strategy and programs to increase brand awareness, nurture client relationships and foster internal knowledge sharing and networking at a global level and in service of Hines’ Central functions, Executive Committee and ownership.

As Events Manager, you will strategize, organize and deliver events on behalf of the Hines brand as a key player in Hines’ Global Events Team. Your core focus will be to develop and deliver events including internal and external conferences, tradeshows, networking and speaking events, and other marketing activity where required.

You will expertly coordinate and engage colleagues along the event planning journey and deliver exceptional events and conferences that strongly engage our varied audiences. With a key eye for detail, and a thirst for success, you will have strong experience in marketing, with a focus on continual improvement. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Further firmwide development and marketing priorities by developing annual and multi-year event plans that align to marketing and business objectives. 
• Plan and execute marketing events to support the profile raising of Hines worldwide
• Deliver all aspects of event planning including venue sourcing (including contract negotiation), supplier selection and hire; operational delivery on the day and ensuring all aspects of the brief are met 
• Define, track, and measure the success and growth of Event Marketing programs, including pre, on-site and post-event lead follow-up
• Ability to creatively and strategically contribute as appropriate to content/materials development in coordination with internal stakeholders and the creative services team
• Ensure that all events elevate Hines’ global brand and deliver the highest quality experience
• Create and manage event budgets and oversee allocation/reallocation of funds across team initiatives and events in collaboration with event stakeholders and accounting. 
• Support team members’ day-to-day execution of initiatives through regular communication, feedback, and coaching. 
• Foster positive cross-team collaboration within the Marketing team, as well as with key departments that depend on or support event initiatives.
• Oversee external suppliers including venues, catering, creative, technology etc
• Prepare and deliver internal stakeholder reports

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) or events/ project management related qualification from an accredited institution
• Five or years’ experience including a variety of event production across creative, hospitality and content based events
• Experience of working with a range of internal and external clients and suppliers of all levels 
• Experience with virtual event production (knowledge of systems such as Zoom Events and ON24 an advantage)
• Experience using events management software tools and CRM platforms such as CVENT, Stova, Salesforce or similar
• Experience of real estate, investment, hospitality or professional services sectors
• Excellent project management skills
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and strive for perfection
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
• A strong team player and ability to work in a dynamic, matrixed organization
• Able to build strong internal relationships and manage partnerships across the firm, including thorough communication throughout event journey
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Main base will be in Houston with approximately 30-50% travel required to US and international locations
