Job Description: Lagerheads Virginia Beach is seeking a dedicated Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by preparing ingredients, following recipes, and assisting with various food preparation tasks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position requires availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and measuring spices.
Follow standardized recipes and instructions to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation.
Assist in the cooking process by operating kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and ovens.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing work surfaces, and storing ingredients properly.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation and service.
Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times to ensure the health and safety of our guests and team members.
Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and notifying management of any shortages or discrepancies.
Support other kitchen staff as needed, including assisting with food plating and expediting orders during peak hours.
Stay updated on menu changes and special promotions to accurately communicate information to guests.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef.
Qualifications:

Previous experience working in a kitchen environment preferred.
Basic understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
