JOB
Hennepin County's Human Resources department is seeking a Project Management Supervisor. This position provides standard processes for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and transitioning projects. This position is accountable for providing work direction/coaching/mentoring to project managers and analysts, implementing project methodology processes, and negotiating project management service delivery. The position performs project management for more complex projects including regular duties such as managing issues, risks, changes, documents, facilitations and budgets. This position also has responsibility for managing program or project-related contracts with vendors, developing program or project sponsorship, and collaborating with senior management and county leadership. This position is responsible for the outcomes of the portfolio of Human Resources projects and related resources and serves as a single point of contact for senior management about the HR project portfolio. Location and hours: This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota.New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment. About the position type: This is a full-time, benefit earning position. You must be a current regular or probationary employee of Hennepin County to apply for this position. Limited duration employees not eligible. This position is internally classified as an Administrative Manager. Click here to view the job classification specification. In this position, you will: Manage the project portfolio for the department. Provide direction and supervision of project management staff.Serve as department lead in methodology of project management and process improvement, implement, and maintain project methodologies.Serve as project manager, executing programs and projects, including day-to-day duties.Need to have: One of the following: Nine or more years of experience related to organizational operations or programs or a specialty area appropriate to the position. Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, public health, or other field appropriate to the position and five or more years of experience related to organizational operations or programs or a specialty area appropriate to the position.Approved certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, plus seven years of experience related to organizational operations or programs or a specialty area appropriate to the position.Nice to have: Experience with: Project management.Supervising and being responsible for the outcomes of multiple staff.Managing vendor contracts.Project Management Institute (PMI) (e.g., PMP or PgMP) Certification and/or Agile ScrumMaster Certification (CSM).Understanding of data privacy, Minnesota Data Practices, Federal HIPAA guidelines.About the department: In Human Resources, we make it our mission to provide an employee experience that attracts and retains the best talent to serve our residents.
