**Safety Manager**

at Landing Birmingham, AL ****About the Role:****

We are looking for a dynamic **Safety** **Supply Manager** to oversee all safety/EHS operations for Landings distribution centers and domestic logistics team. Experience in industrial warehouses or manufacturing facilities is required as is experience with different types of powered industrial trucks (PIT). This role requires an innovative leader who is comfortable building warehouse and logistics safety programs from the ground up, then standardizing and scaling them.

This high-visibility role reports the SVP of Furniture & Logistics, thus candidates must be comfortable working autonomously and presenting to senior leadership. This role provides the opportunity to build and shape Landings safety culture during rapid growth and expansion.

****About the Role:****

Safety Procedures:

* Review metrics and incident details daily/weekly, and monitors, trains, and ensures accurate root cause and corrective measures.

* Track OSHA-required safety metrics and develop risk management plans.

* Coach and train safety ambassadors and warehouse associates.

* Ensure safety programs and rollouts are implemented. Monitor for execution and compliance.

* Utilizes CI tools as appropriate to identify safety solutions for unique processes.

* Perform floor walks to interact with the team and audit for compliance and execution of safety programs.

* Assists with specialized safety program development and implementation.

* Solicits feedback and identifies benchmarking opportunities within the industry to identify tools, processes, systems and equipment to reduce the risk of injury.

Compliance and Regulatory Matters:

* Maintains thorough working knowledge of Federal and State OSHA regulations.

* Ensures safety rules and regulatory programs are followed.

* Responds to regulatory agencies and develops remediation plans for safety-related citations.

* Acts as a subject matter expert for all safety-related regulatory compliance issues.

* Works closely with Compliance partners, including Environmental and Field Compliance personnel to and governmental agencies 9e.g. OSHA).

Incident Response:

* Oversees responses to major safety events.

* Serve as on-site commander during major injuries or events.

* Develops and maintains emergency procedures and SOPs.

****What You Need:****

**Required:**

* Bachelors Degree in Safety Programs / EHS / Occupational Safety, Business Administration or another related field (Will consider additional practical experience in lieu of related degree.).

* 3-5 years safety experience including warehouse operations

* Industry expertise and proven leadership skills

* Proven problem solving and analytical skills

* Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills including the ability to influence without direct authority

* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create strategy documents for senior leadership.

* Ability to travel up to 20%

* Continuous process Improvement experience

**Other Desired Requirements:**

* OSHA 10 / OSHA 30 / other relevant OSHA certifications

* Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
