Regions Hospital is hiring compassionate, collaborative, and committed patient care assistants who are driven to provide excellent care to our patients! When you start your career as a Patient Care Assistant you will receive 2-3 weeks of training with our nursing education to learn more about our electronic health system, hospital safety, disengagement skills and restraints, and unlicensed assistive partner skills. Being a part of the nursing team at Regions means you will use your technical and people skills to positively impact the type of care our patients receive and overall experience.
As a patient care assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the patient with activities of daily living (ADLs), providing patient care treatments which include but are not limited to, discontinuing IVs, restraint monitoring, and collecting patient vitals, weights, and intake & output all in a safe, timely, and effective matter. This position regularly collects specimens such as urine, stool, and finger stick blood glucose at the direction of the nurse. The patient care assistant responds to patient call lights and requests, communicates with patients and visitors, and assist the nurses with procedures as requested. This position also documents and charts in our electronic health system.
Work Schedule/FTE: .8 FTE (32 hours a week) working nights (11pm-7:30am). This position requires you work every other weekend.

Our Patient Care Assistants who work above a .5 FTE (40 hours per 2 weeks) are eligible for medical insurance, dental insurance, 401K with a match, disability insurance, paid time-off, and tuition reimbursement.
