Candidate must demonstrate strong skills in the area of Language Arts with the emphasis on reading skills and process. The ability to interpret student data for use in planning and implementing interventions in the area of reading is a must. Strong communication skills, in order to facilitate collaboration with teams of teachers, are necessary for this position.

Letters of application, recommendations and/or references, ability to work as a team member and previous experience with middle school age children is preferred. All applicants must be able to demonstrate Highly Qualified status per No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Middle School Language Arts Endorsement. Reading Specialist certification preferred. The ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
